Beginnings
Sooo... you want to know a little about us! As the Founder President, and Executive Director of Love in Motion-Global, let me introduce you to our organization. In the fall of 2006, I had the rare and wonderful opportunity to work as a volunteer in mobile medical clinics in South India. My experience was not what I had expected. I was astounded and horrified by the preponderance of gender-discrimination, sexual and physical abuse, and the profound neglect of lower and backward caste members by higher order castes. My heart especially broke for the women of the region who were and continue to be deprived of basic education and adequate health care. Equally alarming is the fact that these women are subjected to gender-specific abortions and temple prostitution.During my time in South India, the desire to positively change individuals and communities became paramount in my life. This burden to alleviate pain and suffering among the world's poor and oppressed weighed heavily on my heart for some time. Subsequently, I have started training in pre- and post-natal support care and volunteer in this area as well. As I contemplated my next move, it became clear over time that I really had only one choice - to start my own nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health care for the under-served populations throughout the world. Thus, Love in Motion-Global was born.
Consequently, I returned from my life-changing trip to India, committed to improving living conditions for the poorest populations of the world. Love in Motion-Global became a living-breathing fetus that God had placed inside my body,for whom I vowed to provide, through any available means, the best birth-outcome and quality of life possible.
The Holy Spirit has been drawing me into a more revelatory relationship with Him, lending more clarity and depth to the plans and desires He had put on my heart in India, for the Nations. Hence, the organization and its’ program-‘A Balm in Gilead’ are under-going exciting restructuring. We are seeking the Father’s heart on all levels, as we await the mighty move of His hand and the initiation of His Master Plan. Through, -‘A Balm in Gilead’ we plan to establish local and international alliances that will bring measurable, positive, and life-restoring change to a people who have been neglected for far too long. I hope you will join me in this journey. "The measure of love is to love without measure."
